Day 12

PICTURE: My morning. This is how I spend my morning (almost every day): coffee, orange juice, pandora.com, journal, Bible, pen. It's my favorite part of the day! (Linus is generally doing one of two things - laying on the floor snoring or playing with his toys while running through the house.)

READING: Genesis 39-41. I am reading about Joseph...and I have read this several times before. This time it is different. My eyes are opened to so much more this time around. Take the following verses for instance...

Genesis 39:3-4 "When his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD gave him success in everything he did, Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care EVERYTHING he owned." (emphasis mine)

Not only did Joseph find favor with God, he found favor with his master. Then he was entrusted with EVERYTHING that Potiphar had.

Then I read Geneses 39:7-23. Potiphars hot-to-trot wifey keeps trying to seduce Joseph. But out of respect for his master and the trust his master has in Joseph, he refuses. Scripture says he "ran" away. He fled from the sinful situation! I need to learn to do that.

  1. I think a lot of the time we think we should run away from the sinful situation, but are afraid of what others will say or do if we do. I need to learn how to run away too! :/
